Under the patronage of His Highness The Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Mall of Qatar held its grand opening on April 8, 2017. Over 150,000 visitors flocked to witness the grand opening, with over 200 talented artists performing in over 20 mall-wide shows, 300,000 balloons in movement with the special acts, and extraordinary celebrations. Τhe massive Mall of Qatar encompasses 500,000 square meters. (5.4 million square feet, or about 93 NFL football fields.)

A Destination for All Ages, the $1.48 billion Mall of Qatar features entertainment opportunities in addition to shopping (offering an incredible retail mix of over 500 brands) and dining (over 100 food and beverage options). It features a hotel, movie theater, kids’ activities and “the world’s first 360-degree in-mall revolving stage,” which will host live performances by a resident troupe. Featuring over 10,500 sq. m of extensive natural sky lighting including the breath-taking 28-meter high skylight in the luxurious court, and 26 relaxing water features both inside and outside the mall, visitors can take in the fresh air and enjoy 48,000 sq. m of landscaped greenery and the colourful, and dynamic façade from one of two signature restaurants with terraces and balcony seating.
